Section 2.62 (b) Memorialization
A permit is required for the scattering of ashes from cremated human remains in the following areas, and/or according to the following terms and conditions:
- Pecan Grove/Big Woods (25 yards away from of any trail)
- Marsh Overlook Platform/Kenta Canal spoilbank (25 yards away from overlook platform)
- The scattering of human ashes from cremation is permitted only in the two areas and only in such a quantity so as to not interfere with visitor use and proper sanitation.
Discussion: Memorialization in the specified locations and conditions only, is necessary for the protection of natural resources, the implementation of management responsibilities and to avoid a conflict among visitor use activities.
